Your Next Adventure
Starts with Loki!
A trained, loyal German Shepherd ready to bond deeply with the right person.

Meet Loki
Loki is a 5-year-old working-line German Shepherd with a big heart, a sharp mind, and so much love to give the right person.
He is the kind of dog who wants to be part of your life. He wants to go where you go, learn what you are asking, and build a real bond with the person he trusts. Loki is deeply affectionate, incredibly intelligent, and happiest when he has connection, structure, and someone to share life with.
This is not a rushed or careless rehoming. Loki has been deeply loved, and this decision is being made responsibly and with his best future in mind. A change in work and life circumstances means his current owner can no longer give him the level of time, consistency, and engagement that Loki truly deserves. The goal is simple: to find him the right person for his next adventure.
Why do people fall
in love with Loki?
Loki is not just a beautiful dog. He is a dog who connects.
He follows his person from room to room because he wants to be near them. He leans in for affection because physical closeness makes him feel secure and connected. He is observant, thoughtful, and always paying attention. Once he bonds, that loyalty runs deep.
With the people he knows and trusts, Loki is affectionate, calm, and fully engaged. He loves belly rubs, companionship, and simply being included. He is the kind of dog who makes you feel chosen.

Trained & ready to keep learning!
Loki has recently completed a 4-week board and train course at the B.A.R.K. Institute in New Jersey. His training experience showed exactly what makes him special: when given patience, structure, and a chance to build trust, he rises to the occasion.
He entered the program a little unsure in a new environment, but week by week he built a strong relationship with his trainer, gained confidence through play and engagement, and made meaningful progress in both obedience and handling. By the end of the program, he was excited to work, eager to learn, and had developed a strong foundation.

Loki knows & understands:
- Sit
- Down
- Place
- Stay
- Come
- Leave it
- Wait
- Outside
- Inside
- Release cues like “ok” and “free”
He is also:
- Crate trained
- Comfortable waiting at doors
- Skilled in loose leash walking
- Strong with recall
- Responsive to structure and routine
- Eager to work with his person
His trainer noted that Loki became more confident as trust developed, loved recall games, learned to tolerate the treadmill, and picked up new concepts quickly. He is not a shut-down dog. He is a thinking dog who does best when communication is clear and the relationship is strong.
The life Loki would love 🖤
Loki is ready for a life that includes him.
He loves hiking, long walks, swimming, training, toys, balls, playtime, car rides, and being out in the world with his person. He enjoys public outings and generally presents as a gentleman when guided well. He is not reactive to loud noises like fireworks and does well with routine, leadership, and purpose.
He would thrive with someone who wants a real companion. Not just a dog in the house, but a dog who is part of everyday life.
Loki’s social history
Loki has lived with a senior dog and coexisted peacefully. He did well around other dogs during puppy school and obedience school, and he has boarded without issue. He has not been exposed to cats or small animals, and he has not had experience around young children.

Honest notes about the kind of home Loki needs…
Loki is a working-line German Shepherd, and with that comes intelligence, loyalty, sensitivity, and natural protective instincts. He is not aggressive by nature, but he does need respectful introductions, clear boundaries, and a person who understands how to build trust.
He does not enjoy immediate physical handling from unfamiliar people before trust has been established. In training, he showed discomfort with some unfamiliar staff handling, which was addressed through muzzle conditioning, touch desensitization, and ongoing confidence-building. He made positive progress with that work.
Loki’s history includes two incidents from age 2 that should be disclosed clearly and responsibly:
- A friend entered the property unannounced and immediately reached toward him. Loki nipped toward the person’s hand to back them off. The nip did not break skin.
- In a separate high-arousal moment involving sudden movement and excited screaming near a swingset, Loki lunged and made contact with a person’s leg, resulting in an injury that required stitches.
These incidents matter, and they should be taken seriously. They do not define Loki as an unpredictable or unsafe dog. They show that he needs a confident, experienced handler who understands protective dogs, respects his adjustment process, and is committed to structure, leadership, and continued management.
With bonded people, Loki is completely comfortable being handled. He has no food or toy guarding, allows items to be taken away, and is highly obedient and respectful with trusted handlers.
He entered the training program a little unsure in a new environment, but week by week he built a strong relationship with his trainer, gained confidence through play and engagement, and made meaningful progress in both obedience and handling. By the end of the program, he was excited to work, eager to learn, and had developed a strong foundation.
Loki’s ideal home
Loki would do best with:
- Someone with German Shepherd or working breed experience
- An adult home or a home with older, dog-savvy teens only
- A person who enjoys training, routine, and engagement
- Someone who wants a true companion and best friend
- A home that will give him time to settle, bond, and succeed
Loki is not a casual pet. He is a relationship dog. For the right person, that is exactly what makes him so special.

Foster option available:
If you are not ready to adopt permanently, fostering can still make a meaningful difference.
A foster home gives Loki the chance to stay in a stable, structured environment while the right forever home is found. All expenses will be covered. What Loki needs most is consistency, leadership, and someone willing to give him a safe place to land.
